Fort Hays Coach Moons Crowd at CEDA, Now Under Investigation
Today the Atlanta Journal-Constitution featured an article concerning an incident at CEDA Nationals between which became public last week after a video was posted on YouTube (warning: language) that showed Fort Hays State University debate coach Bill Shanahan and Shanara Reid during the argument that occurred after the quarterfinals at CEDA Nationals in March between Fort Hays State (KS) and the eventual champions from Towson State (MD).
Shanahan is now under investigation by Fort Hays.

Officials at a Kansas university are looking into a YouTube video that shows a debate team coach mooning a room of spectators during an argument after a competition.
Fort Hays State University debate coach William Shanahan is shown on the video in a profane, in-your-face argument with his counterpart from the University of Pittsburgh, Shanara Reid-Brinkley. The exchange took place at California State University, Fullerton in March, after a debate between Fort Hays and Towson State University teams.

I don’t even know. The debate that ensued on eDebate is intriguing though. Some issues were touched on that the HS circuit/NFL needs to be addressed.

Maybe I just didn’t hear this earlier in when I heard about the fight, but why did the fight erupt to begin with? What comment or action spurred this?
Well, CX has gotten faster, but there are still slower forms of debate. It was naturally going to happen, as it is in Lincoln-Douglas.
