Join The Quest at Henry W. Grady this Fall
Coach Mario Herrera at Grady High School (Atlanta) has announced “The Quest” their second annual tournament. It will offer a full compliment of debate and individual events, as well as offering a new event to Georgia, CIDNI. Registration is available now at their Joy of Tournaments page.
There are a few important details to note from the invite:
Our schedule is similar to most Georgia tournaments in that Policy Debate will begin on Friday at Grady HS (POSSIBLY AT INMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL ON SATURDAY IF NUMBERS WARRANT!). Friday will also see the introduction of an event new to the area. The name of the event is CIDNI (pronounced like the Australian city) and it is an acronym for Competitive Impromptu Duo Nightmare Interp. More information can be found in the Rules section of the website.
On Saturday, we will offer: Dramatic Interp, Humorous Interp, Duo Interp, Prose/Poetry, Original Oratory, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Varsity and Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Public Forum Debate. The philosophy of this tournament is based upon standards and guidelines of events as prescribed in the National Forensic League tournament manual. LD and Public Forum Debate should be guided by general principles, NOT by policy-type argumentation.
