The National Forensic League released the first resolution of the 2009-2010 debate season today:
Resolved: Public high school students in the United States ought not be required to pass standardized exit exams to graduate.

2010 Tournament of Champions Qualifying Tournaments Announced

The final sign of the beginning of a new season has arrived. J.W. Patterson has released the list of bid tournaments for the 2009-2010 qualifying period. Notably, Blake (MN) moves up a level.

2009 NFL Nationals Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum Resolutions

The NFL released the 2009 National Tournament Topics today in Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, and Storytelling. In storytelling, the NFL has abandoned one set topic, and “to allow for maximum levels of creativity this year” will allow any appropriate topic to be used.


Trinity Prep, Westminster, Ransom Everglades Win Barkley Forum

The 54th Annual Barkley Forum for High Schools has concluded and congrats to the champions of the debate divisions, who win keys taken from a mold of the key General Sherman carried during his march to the sea:
In Policy Debate, Westminster SJ (Anshu Sathian & Rajesh Jegadeesh) took home the Silver Key.
